Technic NEOM McLaren Racing Gift Set 66784 — Build, Pull Back & Race!
A 704-piece double-car building set for young racing fans who love engineering, speed, and the McLaren name.
If your child lights up at the sound of an engine and can't stop rebuilding their LEGO sets into "faster" versions, the LEGO Technic NEOM McLaren Racing Gift Set (66784) was built for them. This is not just one race car — it's two, each with its own build style, its own play pattern, and its own reason to end up on the shelf next to a trophy. Here's an honest, detailed look at what's inside the box and who it's really for.
What's In the Box?
This 704-piece set delivers two separate McLaren-inspired builds in one package, so there are effectively two projects and two toys for the price of one gift.
🏎️ Formula E Race Car
A sleek, track-styled build with a functional turning steering wheel and a standout double pull-back mechanism for extra launch power.
🚙 Extreme E Race Car
A rugged, off-road-styled build with chunky tires designed for imaginative rough-terrain racing adventures.
⚡ Pull-Back Action
Both models can be pulled back and released to zoom forward, turning the build phase straight into active play.
📱 LEGO Builder App
Digital instructions let builders zoom, rotate, and track progress in 3D as they go — handy for solo or shared building sessions.
Why It's Worth Building
LEGO Technic sets are designed to teach real mechanical thinking — gears, steering linkages, and pull-back drive systems — instead of simple stud-stacking. At 704 pieces, this set gives a builder ages 9+ a satisfying challenge without being overwhelming, and the payoff is a toy that actually moves once it's finished.

Who Is This Set Best For?
This gift set is a strong pick for kids around 9 and up who already enjoy LEGO Technic or Speed Champions sets and are ready for a slightly longer, two-part build. It also suits McLaren and motorsport fans who want more than just a static display model — the pull-back play value keeps it interesting well after the last piece is snapped in.
Buying Tips
Since the set includes two separate car builds, it can make a great shared project for a parent and child, or two siblings each taking on one car. Keep in mind that, as with most licensed gift sets, promotional extras or bonus accessories shown in marketing photos aren't guaranteed to be included — the build itself is the main event, and it delivers.
